Let’s Look At The Benefits In More Detail:

Naturally Caffeine-Free

Unlike black and green tea, rooibos is naturally caffeine-free—it does not need to undergo a decaffeination process. This makes it a refreshing choice at any time of day, including in the evening or for anyone wishing to limit caffeine.

A Unique South African Plant

Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) grows naturally only in a small region surrounding the Cederberg mountains of South Africa. It has been enjoyed for generations and is now valued around the world for its distinctive flavour and naturally caffeine-free character.

Naturally Occurring Polyphenols

Rooibos contains a variety of naturally occurring plant compounds known as polyphenols. These include aspalathin, a rare antioxidant for which rooibos is the best-known natural source, as well as nothofagin and quercetin.

Antioxidants help to neutralise free radicals in the body. Researchers continue to investigate the possible relationship between the polyphenols in rooibos and areas such as cardiovascular health, glucose metabolism and oxidative stress. Although early findings are promising, more large-scale human studies are needed before firm health conclusions can be drawn.

Low in Tannins

Rooibos is naturally lower in tannins than traditional black or green tea. Tannins are plant compounds that can contribute bitterness and astringency and may affect the absorption of certain nutrients, including iron.

Green and Fermented Rooibos

Green, or unfermented, rooibos generally contains higher concentrations of certain antioxidants than traditionally fermented rooibos. Antioxidant levels can vary according to growing conditions and the way in which rooibos is processed and brewed.

Real Rooibos, Carefully Brewed

At Two in a Bush, we use high-quality organic rooibos grown in South Africa. We brew real rooibos rather than relying on spray-dried rooibos powder, because we believe the quality of the tea—and the way it is prepared—makes a meaningful difference to its flavour.

SUPERFOOD

Rooibos is considered a superfood, protecting the body by neutralising free radicals.

A convincing body of evidence points to the following health benefits of Rooibos.

PURE & BETTER TASTING

Our certified organic tea is brewed with pure natural water. Cordials are produced in small batches in a FSSC 22000 compliant facility. We set high standards for our product, from the raw materials to the final product.

VALUE FOR MONEY

It is good value for money. A 500ml bottle of TWO IN A BUSH cordial makes around 3.5l or around 17 drinks.

Only certified organic tea is used. Organic tea has never been sprayed with harmful pesticides.

Glass bottles (comprising around 47% recycled glass) from a local manufacturer are used to bottle our small batch cordials.

Glass is 100% recyclable forever, and by using recycled glass bottles we prevent single use bottles or plastics polluting our planet.

For the same reason we chose aluminium screwcaps on the bottles and no plastic packaging.

The discarded tea leaves are used for composting and given back to nature as fertilizer.

Our tea is sourced from suppliers with the following accreditation:

Heart & Stroke Foundation South Africa
